AWCCI leadership session on 2018 accomplishments and 2019 plans with AWCCI members

Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries hosted number of AWCCI members on January 14, 2019 at its main office for reviewing 2018 accomplishments and sharing 2019 Strategic plan. At the beginning, Ms. Manizha Wafeq, President of AWCCI welcomed participants and shared the agenda of the meeting. Subsequently, she reviewed 2018 accomplishments with participants. Ms. Wafeq mentioned remarkable achievements of 2018 such as, 5% priority for women in procurement by National Procurement Authority (NPA) , 15-20% Industrial rule for SME’s and women, Private Sector Development NPP, National Export strategy, National Trade Policy, more than 25 Exhibitions outside the country 15 Exhibitions inside the Country, Weekly Juma Bazar in two locations of Kabul since July, 2018, a total of 321 women from Kabul and provinces attended above exhibitions, 6 Training outside the country, 7 training inside the country, 13 conferences outside of the country, providing 160 women business owners with the above mentioned opportunities, First Time in 16 years 8 women companies went to Dubai to sell of Global Village for six months, Establishing first mini Industrial Park and 20 women recognized and provided business expansion support in four years of annual Bibi Khadija Award and AWCCI approval forever by H. E. Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the country. Ms. Wafeq asked businesswomen to try more for using opportunities to promote their own economy and the country’s.

Furthermore, women shared their business challenges and provided the recommendations to AWCCI. Since one of the biggest achievements of 2018 is women Companies participation in Industrial Park, Industrial Park Directorate was invited to give information for AWCCI members about getting share in industrial Park. Head of Industrial Parks Development, Head of Industrial Parks and Business Plan specialist attended the meeting and answered participants’ questions related to Industrial parks.

Later on, Ms. Liza Obide, Deputy Chief Internal Audit of Ghazanfar Bank attended the meeting for hearing women challenges in getting loan form bank and giving information about “Banoo” especial package of Ghazanfar Bank Loan. She talked about Loan requirements, the reasons for creating this package for women, amount and time of the loans and other related issues. Women shared their challenges while getting loan from this Bank and Ms. Obaide promised to follow up and facilitate the process for them.
