AWCCI’s High Council (5 office board of directors and managers) met H.E. President Ashraf Ghani

AWCCI’s leadership met with the H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on December 31, 2020. This was the 2nd meeting of AWCCI’s leadership after two years.


At the beginning Ms. Afsana Rahimi Head of AWCCI started her speech with a thank you note from President M. Ashraf Ghani for the continuous support of the private sector that has resulted to a number of achievements in business sector. She emphasized that businesswomen  who are affected during the pandemic are still waiting for the stimulus or incentive package. 


Afterward Ms. Manizha Wafeq CEO of AWCCI presented the activities report of afghan entrepreneur women and said that there are 2671 individual formal businesses and there are more than 54000 informal businesses  in Kabul and other provinces.  She added that in formulating laws and policies there is a need for provisions to the informal businesses not only for women but also those of men.


Mr. President after hearing the above information, said that “during the 3 years you change from a concept to an organization and from a network to a community, I highly appreciate and congratulate the AWCCI’s board of directors”.


The President also ordered that make the land available for afghan entrepreneur women. And made the AWCCI responsible to assure that they use the parks and markets in a clear and proper way.


H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani pointed to giving special attention to women entrepreneur. And also promised that in Kabul Machine House a portion will be dedicated to Afghan business women. He also ordered the responsible officers to find solutions for afghan businesswomen in provinces. At the end President Ghani emphasized that a wide role should be given to Businesswomen in the provinces. He emphasized that future of business is dependent on digital marketing and all businesswomen have to make their bazaars ready for digital system.
