More Afghan women in Business Program

AWCCI-North Zone held one-day program with the name of More Afghan Women in Business and campaign of Buy from Afghan Women Businesses on May 05, 2019 with the collaboration of Taj Higher Education Institution. This program held for more than 25 female students of economic faculty of this Higher Education Institute to encourage new generation to start business activities. The program hosted by Ms. Najma Abed, member of AWCCI-North Zone which started on 09:00AM to 11:30 AM.

At the first part of the program, Ms. Tamana Farewar, Zone Manager of AWCCI-North Zone begun the program with the introduction of business opportunities for women and recent progress of the business sector in the country. As following, Ms. Farewar officially launched the program that consisted of: objectives of the program, the impact of becoming entrepreneur on the life, the difference between entrepreneur and employees, characteristics of an entrepreneur, building a good team and characteristics of team members for starting a business, starting with an idea, writing a business plan, inspiring resources, the requirements of writing business plan and the main parts of it. During the program, participants worked on business exercises as well.

Learning from businesswomen experiences and networking was one of the inspirational and encouraging parts of the program for students. In the panel discussion part, Ms. Diana Hashimnzada, President of Durkhshane Balkh Poultry Company and Ms. Yalda Bari, CEO of Bari Search path Company; who are members of AWCCI-North Zone participated. The panelists talked about their business, experiences of their business, the reasons for encouraging young women to start entrepreneurship activities, and lastly they had an open discussion with participants for answering the questions.

It is worth mentioning that a small exhibition organized with the name of “Buy Form Afghan women businesses” from 08:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Institute courtyard to be available to all students and Institute staff. In the exhibition, six women-owned companies from members AWCCI-North participated from jewelry, hand crafts, arts and entrepreneurship, and agriculture sectors.
